Back-to-School & Other Updates from the Writing Desk

What have we been up to at Not Alone Notes?

The past several weeks have been a busy time for the Not Alone Notes team. In addition to ongoing projects, we’ve been busy planning some fun things for the future. Here are some of the highlights:

Back-to-School Notes

The return of our back-to-school notes project was a major success. Our writers continue to fulfill requests. Thank you to all our recipients for your patience as we work to wrap up the remaining notes. Here are a few fun facts from this year’s back to school notes project:

  • We received nearly 100 note requests from educators and students of all ages, from preschool through graduate school
  • We sent back to school notes around the United States, including to 21 states, as well as 5 other countries.
  • In the spirit of back to school, the favorite color of note recipients was blue!

Good luck to all students and educators returning to school, and a special thank you to our friends and supporters who helped make our notes drive a success this year!

Writer Updates

We’re going back to school too!

Multiple members of our team are going back to school themselves as both students and educators.

  • Co-founder, Morgan began a Master’s in Library and Information Science.
  • Co-founder, Molly began a Master’s of Public Health Program.

We wish all of our team members returning to school a great year!

Advocacy

Several of our writers continue to be involved in advocacy within the OCD and mental health spaces. This includes participating in special interest groups (SIGs) through the International OCD Foundation, attending 1 Million Steps 4 OCD, and advocating online. To highlight some of the projects writers are or will be involved in:

  • Writer, Brie has been involved in the Young Adult SIG through IOCDF. She recently spoke on an Instagram live along with several other young adults who bravely shared their stories. Be sure to check out the replay on the IOCDF Instagram!
  • IOCDF Online OCD Conference on October 21-23

We hope to see you at a future event!
