After years of contemplating and getting scared to actually do it, guess who finally did it! I finally got a tattoo to honor the beautiful work we do here at Not Alone Notes.
I present, my new tattoo!

Not Alone Notes, sometimes affectionally called NAN with my family and friends, means so much to me. From just a spark of an idea, I finally started it as a solo project, then built it bigger with a friend, and now we are a nonprofit and team having sent thousands of notes.
Making the decision to finally get the envelope tattoo was the hardest part. A tattoo feels so permanent. I had reached out to an artist, thinking I’d consider scheduling in a few weeks, but he had a large cancellation for the next day. So, I went and got it done that very next day.
Getting the tattoo itself wasn’t that bad. It hurt a little bit, but it’s a small tattoo, essentially just eight quick lines, so it was over quickly. Honestly, after a day or so to reflect, I really love it. I’m so glad I finally did it.
Not Alone Notes is special because it is helping others with OCD, in particular helping them know they aren’t alone. More than that though, Not Alone Notes symbolizes my own bravery, hope, courage, recovery, strength, community, belonging, and forever knowing I am not alone.
